M.C.C. Auckland Chapel
 
M.C.C. Auckland Chapel (founded 1975) is part of the Universal Fellowship of Metropolitan Community Churches www.MCCchurch.org a world-wide denomination founded by Reverend Troy Perry and 11 others in Los Angeles, in October 1968.  The name "Metropolitan Community" refers to the first congregation being in the Los Angeles metropolis.  The majority of congregations continue to be centered in urban metropolitan areas.
 
The current international interim Moderator (since October 2016) is Rev. Dr. Rachelle Brown.

Metropolitan Community Church's special character is that it is a fellowship that accepts and welcomes all in the community, and was founded in response to oppression against minorities, particularly the gay community.
 
The Auckland congregation began in 1975.
 
M.C.C. currently worships every Sunday in the Quaker Meeting House at 113 Mount Eden Road (just 2 blocks from Mt. Eden Train Station).

As well as by the western line train, 113 Mount Eden Road can be reached by bus routes 255, 258, 267, 274 and 277.
 
There is ample off-street parking, with 2 spaces by the doorway on Mt. Eden Rd. designated as Disabled Parking.
 
The Meeting House is all level and fully wheelchair accessible.
There are 2 toilets just inside front door [off lobby] - 1 suitable for wheelchair access.
